The New York Times has interviewed Bill Cosby on the eve of the release Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids: The Complete Series on DVD on June 25, 2013. Among other topics, Cosby discusses how the show came to TV; the ties between the show and its characters and his own life and experiences growing up in Philadelphia; how the show affected his relationship with his own kids (and especially his late son Ennis); how the show has aged or was ahead of its time; and the sense of values the show attempted to imbue in comparison current-day culture.
