“The Avengers” and “Iron Man 3” are two of the most highly successful films in the past two years and Robert Downey, Jr. has all the money from his stints as Iron Man/Tony Stark in those flicks as well as the previous two films in the Iron Man franchise – so it can be safe to assume that he saw many million perfectly good reasons to agree to reprise his role for two more “Avengers” films in the future. RDJ has agreed to be terms with Disney/Marvel to appear as Iron Man/Tony Stark in “Avengers 2” and the as yet untitled third film in the Avengers franchise. “Avengers” and “Iron Man 3” currently sit at #27 and #96, respectively, on the all-time highest grossing films when adjusted for inflation.].
“Avengers 2” is currently scheduled for a May 1, 2015 release.
