While the Microsoft and Sony gaming console battle discussions were in intermission, there was a reminder that, oh yeah, there is a third gaming console company in the world – Nintendo – which unveiled their lineup of Nintendo-exclusive games at the Electronic Entertainment Expo [E3] in Los Angeles.
Chief among these games, of course, were anything to do with Mario or Zelda and sure enough, there was “Super Mario 3D World” front and center followed by “The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker” as the twin centerpieces of the Nintendo lineup for their Wii gaming systems. “Super Mario 3D World” will release later this year for Wii U while “The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker” will release in October, also for Wii U. Additionally, “Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze” is due out in November and “Mario Kart 8” is due to be released in spring 2014.
Nintendo announced “Pikmin 3” will release in North America on August 4, 2013 and “Bayonetta 2” is set for a spring 2014 release.
The Electronic Entertainment Expo is held at the Convention Center in Los Angeles from June 11-13, 2013.
