Xbox what? Sony how? Nintendo why? While the so-called “Big Three” gaming console makers will certainly hog the spotlight at this week’s Electronic Entertainment Expo [E3] in Los Angeles, there are a few other players in the gaming market that may see the light at the end of the tunnel by the time the show is over. Independent game makers Ouya and Oculus Rift are generating the most pre-E3 buzz about their gaming systems as Ouya used a Kickstarter campaign to raise money for its small console that operates via Google’s Android system and Oculus Rift’s virtual reality headset seems to be on the receiving end of rave reviews. Also be on the lookout for PlayJam’s GameStick [a wireless television connector for your controller] and the Wikipad and Unu [gaming tablets].
The Electronic Entertainment Expo is held at the Convention Center in Los Angeles from June 11-13, 2013.
