"The Simpsons" Co-Creator Sam Simon Undergoing Chemotherapy for Colon Cancer
Sam Simon, who co-created The Simpsons with Matt Groening and James L. Brooks, revealed that he has been diagnosed with colon cancer, and is undergoing chemotherapy treatments for the disease. Simon revealed that the cancer has already spread to his liver, kidneys, abdominal connective tissues, and lymph system and possibly his brain. In addition to his credits on The Simpsons, Simon has worked on Taxi, Cheers, and Friends, and has also been an activist for a number of different causes, including the Sam Simon Foundation Feeding Families, the Sam Simon Foundation (which rescues and rehabilitate stray dogs as service animals), Save the Children, PETA, and the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.
