NY Times Looks at Making “From Up on Poppy Hill”

The New York Times has examined the making of From Up on Poppy Hill, the latest film from Studio Ghibli directed by Goro Miyazaki from an adapted screenplay by his father Hayao Miyazaki. In the article, the younger Miyazaki discusses some of the artistic influences in the film and inspirations for some of its key moments. An accompanying slide show also shows some concept art. From Up on Poppy Hill is getting its US premiere via this year’s New York International Children’s Film Festival.
