Childrens Hospital - Wisedocs - Season 4, Episode 13
Synopsis: Mafioso posing as children infiltrate Childrens Hospital as part of a concerted effort to fool the police and spoof mafia movie clichés and Chief attempts to kill Blake before Detective Chance Briggs [Nick Offerman] finishes him off.
Details: There is barely a movie theme left which the staff of “Childrens Hospital” has not spoofed, so it was the Mafia’s turn this time as various Mafia movie clichés were torched in the storyline of Mafioso posing as children to elude police and get their bullet wounds cleaned up. Right off the bat, Sy makes two mistakes – he asks Dory a rhetorical question and he allows Frankie the Mobster [Eddie Mekka] to be admitted to the hospital as a five-year-old child after he “fell on a bullet”. The cops are not far behind, however, as Detective Chance Briggs [played by Nick Offerman of “Parks & Recreation”] makes an appearance as a partially deaf police officer trying to become a doctor at CH…until he catches a glimpse of Frankie and reverts to his law enforcement role. Meanwhile, Chief is enjoying her day off outdoors but isn’t quick enough to reach a choking child. Blake reaches the child and taunts Chief, prompting Chief to stab him with a large kitchen knife before he is finished administering the Heimlich maneuver. Blake miraculously survives long enough to stagger to the hospital where Briggs shoots him thinking he is a zombie. As a distraction from the rest of the episode, Cat falls in love with mafia nerd, Dookie, who has a mental disability. Chief has her medical license revoked for a month for practicing medicine on her day off – but Blake is still dead at the end of the episode.
The Poop and Skinny: Mekka is most famous for his role as Carmine Ragusa in “Laverne & Shirley” and we find out that Sy is short for Sylvester when he is reluctantly brought into the Mafia family and only wealthy people, British waiters and Frasier’s brother says “to-maw-toe”. That is all.
