Ginny Tyler, Voice Actor, 1925 - 2012
Voice actor Ginny Tyler passed away on July 13, 2012, from natural causes at the age of 86. Tyler (born Merrie Virginia Erlandson on August 8, 1925) is best known for her work with the Walt Disney Company, serving as the head Mouseketeer for episodes of The Mickey Mouse Club bound for syndication while providing voices as a Disneyland Storyteller (narrating records of Disney stories) and as a voice actor in several Disney films, while also making personal appearances at the Disneyland theme park. For Disney, she provided the voices for two female squirrels in The Sword and the Stone, several barnyard animals in the “Jolly Holiday” animated sequence of Mary Poppins, and the bees in the “Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree” short. In addition, she was the voice of Jan, one of Space Ghost’s youthful companions on the vintage Hanna-Barbera cartoon; Susan Storm Richards, the Invisible Girl, in the 1978 Fantastic Four series; and numerous female voices in the classic stop-motion series Davey and Goliath.
