NY Times Interviews Seth MacFarlane on Animated TV and "Ted"

The New York Times‘ Arts Beat weblog has interviewed Seth MacFarlane on his work on his Fox animated comedies and his feature film directorial debut for Ted, in which he also plays the title character through motion capture CGI animation. Among other topics, MacFarlane discusses where the concept of Ted came from, his use of pop-culture references in his shows and Ted, how he dealt with the looser restrictions of an R-rated feature film vs. prime-time network TV, and what happened to his planned revival of The Flintstones. Family Guy, The Cleveland Show, and American Dad continue to air on Fox, while Ted is slated to open in theaters on June 29, 2012.
