Man Sentenced to 11.5 Years in Prison for Threatening "South Park" Creators Online

Jesse Curtis Morton was sentenced to 11.5 years in prison for posting online threats on the now-defunct Revolution Muslim website, including comments against the creators of South Park over perceived insults to the Prophet Muhammad in the episodes “200″ and “201″ (read Toonzone’s earlier coverage here). The sentence was in-line with the term sought by prosecutors in the case, who argued for a stiff sentence because of the nature of the crime. Morton’s co-defendant Zachary Chesser had received a 25-year sentence earlier, although Chesser had also attempted to travel to Somalia to join Al-Shabab, designated as a terrorist group by several countries including the United States.
