SEGA has released a new teaser trailer with some gameplay footage for Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown in anticipation of E3. This release brings the latest arcade version of the Virtua Fighter 5 series to consoles worldwide, adds new fighting arenas and two new characters including Taka-Arashi from Virtua Fighter 3 and newcomer Jean Kujo. Console-only features include Training Mode, eight player Online Room Match Mode, and a match record feature to replay, save, and upload fights. Developed by AM2, the console version of Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown aims to bring the franchise’s balance, overhauled fighting mechanics, and depth to new players and veterans alike.
Character customization DLC packs will be available at launch for all 19 fighters and will contain 600-950 customization items. Each customization pack will cost $4.99 for PSN and 400 Microsoft Points for XBLA. Two additional customization packs will be available at launch for $14.99 each on PSN and 1,200 Microsoft Points on XBLA. The first will consist of nine characters’ worth of DLC items and the other 10 characters’ worth.
Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown will make it’s console debut June 5 on the Playstation Network and June 6 for Xbox Live Arcade and for the Xbox 360. The game will be priced at $14.99 USD for PSN and 1,200 Microsoft Post for XBLA.
