"Sid the Science Kid" Heading to Big Screen

The Jim Henson Company will co-produce a feature-film version of its Sid the Science Kid, World Screen reports.

The production deal, which pairs Henson with Nine Eyes Stone and Shanghai Animation Film Studios, will be the company’s first animated movie. It will have Sid and a classmate winning a trip to a new science museum, where they and a group of Chinese winners and a scientist must catch a rogue robot tour guide.

Separately, World Screen also reports that the original series has had its second season picked up by networks in France, Canada, Thailand, and Latin America. It is part of a series of deals that Henson has struck for Sid, Dinosaur Train and Pajanimals.
