Blackrock Animation Film Festival 2012 Competition Announces Call for Entries
Details of the second Blackrock Animation Film Festival Competition were announced at a photo call, on Monday, February 27, 2012. Festival Director, Fionnghuala Ní Néill and President of the Institute of Art, Design and Technology (IADT), Dr Annie Doona were joined by Blackrock Business Network members to help launch the 2nd year of the competition. At the unveiling of the competition poster, the Festival Director called for entries and announced a deadline of Friday, July 6, 2012.
Winning entries will be showcased during the festival, which will take place October 12-13th. Prizes will be awarded at the BAFFA awards ceremony. The two day event will also include screenings, talks and workshops.
Entry forms and rules for the competition are available on their website. A full program of events will be announced at a later date. Festival updates will also be announced on their facebook page and twitter account. The inaugural Blackrock Animation Film Festival received over 45 entries from around the world including the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Japan, Hong Kong, Scotland, Spain and Italy. The Festival was opened by Minister Jimmy Deenihan, the Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht.
