Salma Hayek plans to produce an animated feature film adaptation of Khalil Gibran’s novel The Prophet, The Hollywood Reporter says.
The plan is for the novel, which is structured as a series of poetic essays, to be adapted piecemeal by a group of individual filmmakers. Directors who have signed on include Marjane Satrapi of Persepolis, Tomm Moore of The Secret of Kells and Bill Plympton.
Doha Film Institute and Participant Media will produce.
