Regular Show - "Terror Tales of the Park" Recap

In this 30-minute Halloween special of Regular Show, the characters tell scary stories in the form of three shorts:

  • Creepy Doll (Pop’s Story): Pops finds his old, vengeful doll, Percy is obsessed with drawing on peoples’ faces.
  • Death Metal Crash Pit (Muscle Man’s Story): Muscle Man and High-Five Ghost try to throw a beat up trailer into the crash pit. However, the trailer is haunted by an 80’s death metal band.
  • In the House (Rigby’s Story): After unknowingly egging a wizard’s house, Rigby is put under a curse that turns him into a house.
Of the three stories, I found Rigby’s the best and scariest.  The other stories were relatively weak and the pacing was off on “Death Metal Crash Pit”. I did enjoy the characters’ reactions to ad things happening to them in each of the stories.  For example, in “Death Metal Crash Pit” Muscle Man ends up dying, yet all he does is yell about how awesome the crash pit was. The same goes for Mordecai in “In the House.” His head was chopped off, falling to the floor and he then says, “So this is how it feels like to be as tall as Rigby.”

So, as far as Halloween specials and Regular Show go, I guess the episode did all right, but it didn’t blow me away. I really liked how it had some fairly gory parts, and of course, the darker humor.  For anyone looking for a quick scare and a laugh, this episode is for you.
