NYCC2011: "Wahoo! Magic School Bus": An Event For The Kids

The kids didn’t have to stay home today! Wahoo! Magic School Bus was an event to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the beloved children’s series I’m sure many readers have fond memories of. An actress who looked and sounded terribly like Ms. Frizzle got on stage as copies of The Magic School Bus and the Climate Challenge was handed out.

She then invited all the children up to the stage, and read them the story. It was very nice to see young kids being able to enjoy the Con, with events like these made especially with them in mind. What I did find a little disturbing though, was how the book seemed to be pushing an agenda, about how climate change is our fault, while this is still a controversial issue. Still, the kids seemed to be enjoying themselves, and that’s what’s really important. The Magic School Bus animated series can still be seen on Qubo and a new game based on the series is due on the Nintendo DS in October.
