Thor: God of Thunder, is coming to video game systems three days before the upcoming May 6th movie release. I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty psyched!
One of my first introductions to Norse mythology was at the Lehman College library at age, “tiny Eileen”. I actually don’t remember how old I was, but my mother was still going for her BA. So, my brother and I would sit in the library and read while she researched. I vividly remember picking up a book on Thor’s adventures and being hooked. It wasn’t long until I picked up Marvel’s Thor comic and tore through that. I can’t even accurately describe how giddy tiny Eileen was when she discovered that the sister in Adventures in Babysitting shared her love of the son of Odin. Needless to say, I’m looking forward to seeing the character realized on the big screen and spending some quality time with this game.
The game, which was developed by Sega, will be a third-person action/adventure game. Players will be able to weild Mjolnir, the legendary hammer, and will be pitted against foes from the comics, including Ulik, Ymir and Surtur. Thor: God of Thunder will hit the Wii, DS, Xbox 360 and PS3 on May 3rd, 2011.
