Cable TV Ratings: "SpongeBob" & "Penguins" Lead, "Regular Show" & "MAD" Premiere Well

For the week of September 6 – 12, Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants was the only animated program in the cable top 25. The new episode (Saturday at 9:30 a.m.) scored 4.534 million viewers, coming in at #18. That airing also scored 2.646 million kids 2-11 and 1.760 million kids 6-11.

Cartoon Network’s Monday night animated comedy premieres scored as follows:

  • Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated (7 p.m.) – 1.227 million kids 2-11, 0.836 million kids 6-11
  • Adventure Time (8 p.m.) – 2.170 million viewers of which 1.333 million were kids 2-11 (3.2/12 demo), 1.054 million kids 6-11 and 0.707 million kids 9-14
  • Regular Show (8:15 p.m., series premiere) – 2.097 million viewers of which 1.339 million were kids 2-11 (3.2/12 demo), 1.040 million kids 6-11 and 0.716 million kids 9-14
  • MAD (8:30 p.m., series premiere) – 1.951 million viewers of which 1.139 million were kids 2-11 (2.7/10 demo), 0.868 million kids 6-11 and 0.706 million kids 9-14
  • Adventure Time (8:45 p.m., repeat) – 1.616 million viewers, 2.2/8 kids 2-11 demo
  • Total Drama World Tour (9 p.m.) – 0.735 million kids 2-11, 0.555 million kids 6-11 and 0.504 million kids 9-14

Lastly, a new episode of Nickelodeon’s The Penguins of Madagascar (Saturday, 10 a.m.) scored 3.9 million viewers and 2.189 million kids 2-11, which followed the previously mentioned new episode of SpongeBob.
