Spanish Organisations Call for Government Support of Animation
FAPAE, the Federation of Spanish Audiovisual Producers Associations and DIBOOS, the Spanish Federation of Animation Producers’ Associations, have publicly objected to the Spanish government’s General Law of Audiovisual Communication.
“FAPAE and DIBOOS consider that the exclusion of the sector in the draft of the General Law of Audiovisual Communication could be the end of animated series in Spain”, they say.
They have proposed that the General Law invest 1% of the income from television stations in national animated series, resulting in a similar situation to that in Canada.
