NY Times on the Updated "Angelina Ballerina"

The New York Times has taken a look at the changes to PBS Kids’ Angelina Ballerina series (free registration required), centering on a mouse who aspires to be a professional ballet dancer. Based on the best-selling series of children’s books written by Katharine Holabird and illustrated by Helen Craig, the newest version of the character has had a body re-shape to make the dance moves easier to see and animate, a change from hand-drawn to CGI animation for more freedom with camera work and the ability to allow characters to spin around more believably, and an expansion of the supporting cast to make the series more about dance and music in general rather than ballet specifically. The new Angelina Ballerina series will premiere on Saturday.
