TELETOON Highlights for March 2009

TELETOON has released its programming highlights for March 2009. The main TELETOON network will be premiering the new show Jimmy Two Shoes, as well as debuting new episodes of Wolverine and the X-Men, Spectacular Spider-Man, Batman: The Brave and the Bold, and Chowder; movie premieres include Scooby Doo in Arabian Nights and The Powerpuff Girls Movie.

TELETOON Detour will be premiering two Futurama movies in March: Bender’s Big Score and The Beast with a Billion Backs, along with new episodes of Robot Chicken.

TELETOON Retro will continue airing classic and vintage cartoons, including Superfriends and The Smurfs.

NEW ACTION AND LAUGHS THIS MARCH ON TELETOON

Toronto- TELETOON reinforces its reputation as a destination for the most funny and adrenaline-fuelled cartoons this March as the network premieres Jimmy Two Shoes in Laugh Riot on Saturday mornings and unleashes new episodes in Action Force. New Action Force episodes include new editions of Wolverine and the X-Men, The Spectacular Spider-Man, and Batman: The Brave and The Bold, the top three show for boys aged two to eleven with The Spectacular Spider-Man currently the most popular show on the network with audiences aged 18 and over.*

TELETOON also airs back-to-back family movies across March break and launches the Action Force Contest where a lucky winner could win a trip to Toronto to throw out the first pitch at a Toronto Blue Jays game,

February 27 – March 5

From Monday, March 2, fans of the transforming teen, Ben Tennyson, can catch-up with all of his adventures in Ben 10: Alien Force as TELETOON re-caps every episode of the action show weeknights at 6 pm ET/PT. During these episodes viewers are asked to test their Action I.Q. as special trivia questions air during the show. After each episode kids are invited to visit teletoon.com to enter the Action Force Contest for a chance to win weekly prizes as well as a chance to throw out the first pitch with a TELETOON Action Force hero at a summer Toronto Blue Jays Game.

March 6 – March 12

In Laugh Riot, new episodes of Chowder and Out of Jimmy’s Head premiere from 8 am ET/PT on Saturday, March 7. Laugh Riot is a comedy-crammed destination, every Saturday morning between 7 and 11 am ET/PT, airing classic and contemporary comedy including The Bugs Bunny and Tweety Show, Camp Lazlo and Shaggy and Scooby-Doo Get a Clue.

On Sunday, March 8, new episodes make their debut in Action Force beginning at 7 am ET/PT. In a new Batman: The Brave and The Bold, one of the network’s most popular shows, at 9 am ET/PT, Atom and Aquaman shrink themselves in order to do battle against Chemo inside Batman’s body.

March 13 – March 19

The TELETOON premiere of Scooby-Doo in Arabian Nights is the TELETOON Presents family movie on Saturday, March 14 at 11 am ET/PT. On Sunday, March 15 at 11 am ET/PT Bubbles, Blossom and Buttercup are cooked-up by Professor Utonium using a recipe including sugar, spice and everything nice plus the mysterious and powerful chemical X in the TELETOON premiere of The Powerpuff Girls Movie.

From Monday, March 16 to March 20, audiences can tune-in for two back-to-back movies every morning beginning at 9 am ET/PT.

On Monday Michael Jordan and Danny DeVito star alongside Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and other classic Looney Tune characters in Space Jam. Looney Tunes laughs continue at 10:30 am ET/PT with the feature-length Tiny Toon Adventures: How I Spent My Summer Vacation.

It is a double-dose of Scooby-Doo everyday from Tuesday March 17 to Thursday March 19. On Tuesday, Scoob and the gang travel to Halloween Land to win back a powerful scepter in Scooby-Doo and the Goblin King at 9 am ET/PT. At 10:20 Shaggy and Scooby must enter videogame to defeat a computer virus in Scooby-Doo and the Cyber Chase.

On Wednesday morning the group travel to Scotland to help Daphne’s cousin Fiona who is being stalked by a legendary creature in Scooby-Doo and the Loch Ness Monster at 9 am ET/PT. At 10:15 am, Scooby-Doo and the Ghoul School sees Scooby-Doo and Shaggy enter a spooky finishing school.

Thursday’s Scooby-Doo movie follows the crime-fighting canine to Mexico where the Chupacabra has been terrorizing a small town. Scooby-Doo and the Monster of Mexico begins at 9 am ET/PT. At 10:20 am audiences have another chance to catch Scooby-Doo in Arabian Nights.

March 20 – March 26

New episodes of one of the most popular shows on TELETOON premiere on Sunday, March 22 at 9:30 am ET/PT as part of Action Force. In a new Ben 10: Alien Force, Ben uncovers the truth behind Darkstar, an enemy he has never encountered before. The episode guest stars Wil Wheaton.

A new show has its broadcast premiere on Laugh Riot on Saturday, March 21 at 7 am ET/PT. In
Jimmy Two-Shoes, the irrepressible, thrill-seeking optimist Jimmy finds fun wherever he goes, an outlook at odds to the town in which he lives. Miseryville is the gloomiest place around but along with his best friends, Heloise and Beezy, Jimmy is determined to overcome all obstacles and lighten-up the place. In the first episode, bodies are swapped and an embarrassing video is uploaded to ‘Spew Tube.’

Continuing the week-long morning movies, TELETOON airs two family films starring Dennis the Menace. At 9 am Walter Matthau stars as Mr. Wilson in the 1993 movie, Dennis the Menace. At 10:35 am Don Rickles takes his turn as the neighbour plagued by Dennis in Dennis the Menace Strikes Again.

March 27 – March 31

In Action Force on Sunday, March 29, Batman swaps place with Owlman in an alternate universe in a new Batman: Brave and the Bold at 9 am ET/PT. Ben also traverses the universe as he is transported to a distant planet alongside a Highbreed Commander in a new Ben 10: Alien Force at 9:30 am ET/PT. In a new episode of Wolverine and the X-Men, Cyclops infiltrates an enemy organization and finds himself trapped at 10 am ET/PT. More Marvel action at 10:30 am ET/PT in a new The Spectacular Spider-Man, The Green Goblin blackmails the brother of Peter Parker’s new girlfriend.

BENDER SCORES BIG ON TELETOON DETOUR THIS MARCH

Toronto – This month on TELETOON Detour, two feature length Futurama movies: Bender’s Big Score and The Beast with a Billion Backs make their network premiere while fresh episodes of Robot Chicken are laid every Wednesday night at 10 pm ET/PT. In addition, choice comedy including American Dad, Life’s a Zoo and Morel Orel air across the TELETOON Detour schedule, beginning every night at 9 pm ET/PT with Futurama.

February 27 – March 5

In Punch! on Sunday, March 1, Enrique Iglesias arrives in town and the reporters at celebrity magazine, get very excited over the prospect of spending a day with the flashy Spaniard. Celebrities are lampooned in satirical comedy at 9:30 pm ET/PT.

On Wednesday, March 4 a new episode of Robot Chicken follows Skeletor as he plots to defeat He-Man with an imperfect clone. Dick Cheney also becomes an unexpected ally of Tony Stark in the fresh episode that begins at 10 pm ET/PT.

The TELETOON Detour Movie on Thursday, March 5 at 9:30 pm ET/PT is Batman Returns. In the second of the blockbuster Batman films, the physically deformed criminal genius The Penguin, played by Danny DeVito, threatens Gotham City.

March 6 – March 12

It is the annual high school film festival and while Abe places his effort into a football movie and Joan makes an avant-garde film, Gandhi teams-up with George Washington Carver for an action comedy. Clone High airs on Saturday, March 7 at 10 pm ET/PT.

On Wednesday, March 11 at 9:30 pm ET/PT, Stan is reassigned to Saudi Arabia, where he discovers that women are generally more obedient to their husbands, an example Stan thinks Francine should follow in American Dad.

Thursday March 12 sees the Futurama movie, Bender’s Big Score, have its TELETOON Detour premiere at 9:30 pm ET/PT. When the professor unwittingly signs-over Planet Express in an internet scam and Bender is taken over by a downloaded virus, the crew find themselves without their jobs. Even more is at risk when it is discovered that a tattoo on Fry’s rear-end holds the formula to create unstable time spheres. Through time travel, jealousy, temporal selves and dimensional rifts the Futurama gang have to get back the rights to Planet Express as well as stop the universe from imploding. The movie airs again at 11:30 pm ET/PT.

March 13 – March 19

On Friday 13, the residents of Kingston Falls aren’t having much luck when a brood of troublesome gremlins wreck havoc on their sleepy town in Gremlins,The TELETOON Detour Movie at 9:30 pm ET/PT with an encore broadcast at midnight ET/PT.

At 10 pm ET/PT on Sunday, March 14, a double bill of Life’s a Zoo sees the housemates find it almost impossible to be nice to each other in one episode while in the second, they find themselves waking up as 2D cartoon characters.

In The Beast With a Billion Backs, the Futurama movie on March 19 at 9:30 pm ET/PT, an enormous tentacled monster threatens the inhabitants of Earth. The movie guest-stars David Cross and will have an encore broadcast at 11:30 pm ET/PT.

March 20 – March 26

The Gremlins are back in the TELETOON Detour Movie, Gremlins 2: The New Batch on Friday, March 20 at 9:30 pm ET/PT and 11:30 pm ET/PT. The Big Apple will never be the same as the mischievous and dangerous creatures take over an office tower in New York City.

In two back-to-back episodes of Moral Orel at 11 pm ET/PT on Saturday, March 21, Orel solves puzzling and mysterious capers through the sheer power of his righteous logic and is taught by the intolerant town librarian the correct way to be offended.

In a new Robot Chicken at 10 pm ET/PT on Wednesday, March 25, The Giving Tree keeps-on giving and The Joker gets his revenge on Batman.

March 27 – March 31

The weekend begins on Friday, March 27 at 9:30 ET/PT with the TELETOON Detour Movie, Captain America. While on Saturday, March 28 at 10:30 Steve goes to a black gay bar to prove he¹s not racist in Rick & Steve: The Happiest Gay Couple in All the World.

UNDERGROUND ADVENTURES AND FOREST FUN ON TELETOON RETRO

Toronto – There’s adventure in a forest, across a plain, in a cave and on a lake this March as TELETOON Retro airs classic cartoons such as Superfriends, Fraggle Rock and The Raccoons. Also this month The Smurfs worry about a possible apocalypse.

February 27 – March 5

The Smurfs fear that the world might be coming to an end when they lose a piece of a note from Papa Smurf in an episode of The Smurfs at 8 am and 8 pm ET on Sunday, March 1.

In The Flintstones at 5 pm ET on Tuesday, March 3, Fred tries his hand at hypnotism and hypnotizes Barney into thinking that he is a dog.

March 6 – March 12

Superfriends on Sunday, March 8 at 3:30 pm ET and midnight, the heroes save the members of a safari from a Voodoo Vampire and are later overrun with an invasion of Gleeks.

March 13 – March 19

On Saturday March 14, Ralph and Melissa take time away on a canoe trip leaving Bert Raccoon to look after Aunt Gertie in The Raccoons at 9:30 am and 1:30 pm ET.

In Wait Till Your Father Gets Home, Harry gives child psychology a try when trying to discipline his son on Wednesday, March 18 at 9 pm ET.

Tom and Jerry are enlisted to remove a splinter from the paw of a hypochondriac lion in Tom and Jerry on Thursday, March 19 at 7 and 11 am ET.

March 20 – March 26

Scooby is after a thief who has stolen a top-secret film and a villain uses a secret formula to turn farm animals into monsters in Scooby-Doo on Saturday, March 21 at 7:30 am and 5:30 pm ET.

In Fraggle Rock Boober might not be dreaming when he meets a strange Fraggle named Sidebottom on Tuesday, March 24 at 9 am and 7:30 pm ET.

March 27 – March 3
The Banana Splits Adventure Showon Saturday, March 28, sees Bakaar steal the magical jewels containing the powers of the ages while the explorers are banished by the Skeleton Men on Danger
Island.The cult show airs at 2 pm ET.
