"Star Wars: The Clone Wars" Leads Ratings Growth for Cartoon Network
Cartoon Network has issued a press release to announce that the premiere of Star Wars: The Clone Wars was “the most-watched series premiere in network history,” according to preliminary ratings data from Nielsen Media Research. The one-hour premiere on October 3, 2008, was the #1 program in its timeslot for kids 6-11, kids 2-11, tweens 9-14, teens 12-7 and persons 2+, and also attracted the largest tween 9-14 audience of any premiere in Cartoon Network history. The estimated numbers for Star Wars: The Clone Wars easily displace the premiere of Ben 10: Alien Force as Cartoon Network’s most-watched series premiere, drawing 3,958,000 viewers in the persons 2+ demographic, vs. Ben 10: Alien Force‘s 2,889,000.
