Russian "South Park" Broadcaster License Renewed Despite Controversy

The Moscow Times reports that the broadcast network 2×2 has gotten its broadcast license renewed by the Federal Mass Media Inspection Service, despite protests from Russian religious groups over an episode of South Park (which triggered a counter-protest from Russian fans). The Times reports that some episodes of South Park were pulled from the air along with select episodes of The Simpsons and Family Guy have been pulled from the network, but that the show remains on 2×2’s schedule.
