Rutgers Breaks World Record of People Dressed as Ninja Turtles on Apr 10 (UPDATED)

Tonight, April 10, 2008, at 9:00 PM EDT, Rutgers University will be hosting an event to attempt to break the current world record for the largest number of people dressed as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (view PDF flyer for the event). The first 600 people to show up will break the record and receive a free T-shirt, and free pizza will be provided after the record is broken. Costumes and face paint will be provided as well.

UPDATED April 11, 2008: The Rutgers students were successful in breaking the Guinness World Record for the Largest Gathering of People Dressed as Ninja Turtles, gathering more than 700 students dressed as chelonian shinobi to do it. The event was sponsored by Rutgers Residence Life and Rutgers Recreation to “encourage students to come together and complete a goal.” A representative revealed that the initial idea was to break the world record for “Largest Gathering of Smurfs.”
