PR: Cartoon Network Goes Hero All Week for Premiere of Ben 10: Alien Force

Event-Filled Week Includes Marathon of Enhanced Episodes and Ben 10 Ultimate Fan Special

Before premiering the much anticipated Ben 10: Alien Force on Friday, April 18, at 8 p.m. (ET, PT), Cartoon Network will spend an entire week celebrating the original Ben 10 series. Ben 10 premiered on Cartoon Network in January 2006 and has consistently been the network’s #1 show on Saturday mornings. Along with the new series, Ben 10 has also spawned a tremendously successful toy and video game line as well as two hit television movies. The live-action movie Ben 10: Race Against Time set record ratings for the network when over 13 million viewers watched during its 2007 Thanksgiving weekend premiere.

The event-filled week begins Sunday, April 13, with a Ben 10 marathon of special episodes featuring nuggets of Ben 10 trivia. Viewers will learn everything they ever wanted to know and tidbits they never thought of knowing about Ben 10. Facts about aliens, Ben, Gwen and behind-the-scenes goodies will pop up during the episodes and movies.

On Monday, April 14 at 8 p.m. (ET, PT) the event continues with a Ben 10 fan-generated special showcasing some of the most dedicated Ben 10 devotees. A half-hour original special will highlight the results of the ultimate Ben 10 fan challenge in which Cartoon Network found 10 of the biggest Ben 10 fans, sent them webcams and video cameras and asked them to document everything Ben 10 in their lives.

Then, a never-before-seen, unearthed “lost” episode of Ben 10 will be revealed on Tuesday, April 15 at 8 p.m. (ET, PT). Viewers will also be treated to an enhanced version of the animated movie Ben 10: The Secret of the Omnitrix on Wednesday, April 16, at 8 p.m. (ET, PT) and an enhanced version of the live-action movie Ben 10: Race Against Time on Thursday, April 17 at 8 p.m. (ET, PT).

All the special programming will lead up to the premiere of the new series Ben 10: Alien Force on Friday, April 18, at 8 p.m. (ET, PT). The animated series will then debut in its regularly scheduled time period Saturday mornings at 10 a.m. (ET, PT). In Ben 10: Alien Force 15-year-old Ben Tennyson chooses to once again put on the OMNITRIX. He discovers that it has reconfigured his DNA and can now transform him into 10 brand new aliens. Joined by his super-powered cousin Gwen Tennyson and his equally powerful former enemy Kevin Levin, Ben is on a mission to find Grandpa Max, who has been missing. But Ben must first defeat the evil DNAliens, a powerful alien race intent on destroying the galaxy. Throughout the series, Ben will join forces with other young heroes to save the galaxy and his Grandpa Max while passing along his knowledge to a whole new generation.
