PR: This March Teletoon Retro Thinks Pink and Makes Merry with New Additions
Toronto- A trio of top cartoon favourites bounce back to television screens across Canada when The Pink Panther Show, Woody Woodpecker and Friends and The Merrie Melodies Show join the TELETOON Retro roster of classic cartoons from March 3. A complement to the nostalgic programming on the channel, these three beloved titles join the current TELETOON Retro line-up including The Bugs Bunny & Tweety Show, Scooby-Doo and The Flintstones.
Not seen on Canadian televisions for over 15 years, The Pink Panther Show is set to take TELETOON Retro viewers on a trip to the surreal and suave world of the psychedelic feline along with characters such as the hapless Inspector and the Ant and the Aardvark. Premiering in 1969, The Pink Panther Show remains unforgettable, not only for its striking animation style but also its indelible theme song, composed by Henry Mancini. The Pink Panther Show airs daily at 5 pm, 9:30 pm and 1:30 am ET/PT.
First appearing in 1940, Woody Woodpecker continues to be a feathered favourite for viewers of all ages. In Woody Woodpecker and Friends the frenzied red-headed bird with the unforgettable laugh is joined by Chilly Willy the penguin and other classic characters in a half-hour filled with ornithological capers and comedy. Woody Woodpecker and Friends airs everyday at 11:30 am, 7 pm and 11:30 pm ET/PT.
Imaginative, inventive and musical, The Merrie Melodies Show first premiered in 1972, born out of the success of previous Merrie Melodies incarnations and featuring iconic Warner Bros. characters such as Sam Sheepdog, Tasmanian Devil (Taz), Yosemite Sam and more. A half-hour compilation of classic shorts, The Merrie Melodies Show is an essential companion to the vintage Warner Bros. animation already available on TELETOON Retro and airs everyday at 5:30 pm, 10:30 pm and 3 am ET/PT.
Since premiering on October 1, TELETOON Retro has given a new home to animated favourites such as Bugs Bunny, The Flintstones, Scooby-Doo and The Jetsons delivering new laughs with familiar friends like Fat Albert, Tom & Jerry and Rocky and Bullwinkle.
