PR: Warner Home Video Brings "It’s the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown" to DVD
BURBANK, CA (December 3, 2007) – This spring consumers will want to fill their Easter baskets with Warner Home Video’s (WHV) latest Peanuts release, It’s the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown, Deluxe Edition, on DVD February 19, 2008. The all-time favorite seasonal animated television special, will be available just in time for the Easter holiday in an eye-catching, newly re-mastered format along with an entertaining bonus featurette and an extra episode. It’s the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown, Deluxe Edition will retail for $19.98 SRP. Order due date has been set for January 15, 2008.
It’s the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown, made its original television debut in 1974. Starring, everyone’s favorite animated beagle, Snoopy and the rest of the lovable Peanuts gang, It’s the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown centers on the gang’s preparations for Easter. Peppermint Patty and Marcie make several attempts at dying eggs but they fail every time after Marcie fries, roasts, toasts and even waffles the eggs. According to Linus however, their efforts are a waste of time because he claims the “Easter Beagle” will take care of everything. Lucy plans to have her own private Easter egg hunt and hides her own eggs so she can easily find them on Easter morning. Snoopy on the other hand, buys Woodstock a bird house, which Woodstock promptly remodels into a hip 70’s pad. Just when everyone thought Easter wasn’t all that it’s cracked up to be, the Easter Beagle (played by Snoopy) makes an appearance, handing out eggs to everyone, everyone that is except for Charlie Brown, who receives an empty basket.

Since the 1950’s Peanuts is one of the most beloved comic strips in the world. Originally written and illustrated by Charles M. Schulz, the strip ran from 1950 until Schulz’s death in 2000. The comic focused on a lovable crew of characters including Charlie Brown, Lucy Van Pelt, Charlie’s pet beagle, Snoopy, and his side-kick Woodstock, as well as several other characters, which were the focus of funny, poignant stories of childhood for every season.
