PR: Molly Chase named Vice President & Exec. Producer, Cartoon Network New Media
Molly Chase has been named vice president and executive producer for Cartoon Network New Media, it was announced today by Paul Condolora, senior vice president and general manager for Cartoon Network New Media. In her new role, Chase will oversee several Cartoon Network New Media departments including the design studio, technology group, game studio and the production team. She will be responsible for directing all aspects of production for the industry-leading Web sites CartoonNetwork.com, Awesomehouseparty.com and ToonamiJetstream.com. Her duties also will include allocating Cartoon Network New Media resources across multiple platforms and brands, and working closely with the network’s marketing and public relations departments in setting messaging priorities. Chase will continue to be based in Atlanta and report directly to Condolora.
“Molly’s promotion reflects her many contributions to New Media’s success over the last several years,” said Condolora. “This newly-created role will facilitate strategic decision making and ensure that we maximize our message to our consumers and business partners. We look forward to Molly’s continued achievement and leadership.”
Chase started with Cartoon Network New Media in 2002 as a supervising producer and then was promoted in 2005 to executive producer. During that time, Chase played a lead role in creating an expandable production infrastructure to meet the growing challenges of New Media production. Her recent accomplishments include overseeing the launch of ToonamiJetstream.com, Cartoon Network Video and CartoonNetworkYA.com, a Spanish language website for the U.S. market. She also served as a key member of the team that formed the parent company’s first games studio and co-produced seven online immersive games that expanded the storyline to one of Cartoon Network’s most popular original series, Codename: Kids Next Door, which led to New Media’s first ever Emmy(r) nomination.
Prior to this, Chase was recruited by Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. in 1998 to serve in corporate affairs as intranet manager and was promoted in 2000 to the role of director of internal communications. Her accomplishments include developing the name, logo and design for TBS, Inc.’s intranet, “Orbit,” and launching the employee service company-wide. At the time of TBS’s merger with Time Warner, she was elected by peers from the two companies to lead the group in planning and execution of a combined intranet.
Chase’s entrepreneurial efforts began in 1996 when she co-founded two companies-Left Lane Media and Dream Lucky Web Studio-that provided complex Web site construction services for clients such as Bank of America, World Championship Wrestling and the Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA).
Chase graduated from the University of Georgia magna cum laude with a bachelor of arts degree in history. She is an active member of the International Games Developers Association, an executive member of Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT), and a Board member of Mentor-E, a non-profit organization to reach at-risk youth through volunteer mentors. She is a 2007 graduate of the LEAD Atlanta leadership program and received the Best Teamwork Award from WICTforum 2005.
