"Death Note" Volume 1 Nominated for Evergreen Young Adult Book Award

Death Note, a Japanese manga series written by Tsugumi Ohba with art done by Takeshi Obata, has been nominated for a 2008 Evergreen Young Adult Book Award. Voters must be in grades 7-12 and must have read two or more of the titles up for nomination. Only one vote per ballot is allowed (to be turned in March 1-15).

Death Note was popular enough for a thirty-seven episode long Anime series to be created. Both the manga and anime versions of the franchise are currently available in the US from Viz Media.
