TELETOON CANADA LAUNCHES NEW DIGITAL SPECIALTY CHANNEL TELETOON RETRO

Toronto – Classic cartoon characters like Bugs Bunny, The Flintstones, Scooby-Doo and The Jetsons have a brand new home with the launch of TELETOON Retro. Offering a nostalgic throwback to timeless cartoons, the new channel delivers new laughs with familiar friends like Fat Albert, Tom & Jerry, Rocky and Bullwinkle and Superfriends to adults aged 25 to 49. TELETOON Retro premieres across Canada on October 1, 2007 at 6 pm.

“TELETOON Retro lets you be a kid again,” said Len Cochrane, President, TELETOON Canada Inc. “These classic cartoons have huge appeal. The characters are iconic pop-culture figures and viewers ask us daily to bring them back on air. I’m thrilled that our distribution and marketing partners recognize the channel’s wide appeal and have provided us the opportunity to launch TELETOON Retro in nearly 2-million homes from day one.”

For advertisers, TELETOON Retro offers a targeted viewing environment, reaching adults 25 to 49 with substantial family co-viewing opportunities. The TELETOON sales team can build customized packages to fully meet client marketing objectives, from creatively re-purposing retro commercials to brandsell and custom-tailored, interactive promotions.

Starting today, a special TELETOON Retro hour airs every evening at 7:30 pm ET/PT on TELETOON to promote the launch. From October 1, TELETOON Retro will be available as part of the Digital standard package on Bell ExpressVu. Ongoing negotiations with additional carriers are expected to be finalized by launch.
