Rick Siggelkow has worked as a television prouducer since 1976, racking up an impressive list of awards and honors for his work in children’s programming. Siggelkow’s best known work is probably Shining Time Station, the Emmy Award-winning public television series that introduced Thomas the Tank Engine to North America. He has also had a hand in producing the North American versions of several other children’s shows, such as Noddy, Tweenies, and Ace Lightning.
Siggelkow is currently the Executive Producer for DinoSapien, a new 15-episode television series that centers on Lauren, the daughter of a pair of paleontologists. While searching for her missing father, she discovers evolved and intelligent dinosaurs hidden away in the wilds of the Canadian badlands. The show will mix live-action actors with CGI-animated dinosaurs. We were able to talk with Siggelkow via e-mail about his new project.
