4KIDS ENTERTAINMENT ACQUIRES ANIMATED ACTION ADVENTURE SERIES DI-GATA DEFENDERS
Popular International Series Slated to Kick Off in the U.S. on 4Kids TV™’s New Fall Lineup Beginning July 2007.
NEW YORK, N.Y. – July 23, 2007 – 4Kids Entertainment (NYSE: KDE),the children’s entertainment powerhouse, has licensed television broadcast and merchandising rights from Nelvana Enterprises for the 2-D animated action-adventure sensation, Di-Gata Defenders, which will premiere on 4Kids TV™ (Saturday mornings on Fox affiliates nationwide) beginning July 28, 2007.
Co-produced by Nelvana Limited and LuxAnimation, the series follows the adventures of four young heroes – the Di-Gata Defenders – as they protect the Realm against the evil Order of Infinis. With the help of powerful Guardians, the heroes will fight to control the destiny of the four pure stones – the last line of protection between the good people of Rados and the villains who seek to rule them.

The series has spawned a unique toy line that includes dice, trading cards and action figures. The products are set to launch in the U.S. in Spring 2008.
Also scheduled for Spring 2008 is the release of the Di-Gata handheld game for the Nintendo DS by The Game Factory. Additionally, 4Kids Entertainment plans to develop a comprehensive licensing and marketing program for Di-Gata Defenders in 2007.
The companion Di-Gata website (www.digata.com) features online games, a creator’s blog, streaming video, music from the show and customized instant messaging avatars.
