Otakon: A Small "One Piece" Update

Toon Zone News’ Duke, on-site at Otakon 2007, reports from FUNimation’s panel on One Piece that dubbing of the episodes now under FUNimation’s license started about one to one and a half months ago. So far they have completed five episodes, at least some of which have already been shipped to Cartoon Network. Additionally, the voice actors for Luffy and Chopper were on hand and they performed some of their lines. While sounding better than their 4Kids dubbed counterparts, the voices sounded suprisingly similar to those used in the previous dub. However, it should be noted that the sound equipment employed at the panel may cause the voices to sound different from how they will actually be heard on television.

Stay tuned for Toon Zone News’ complete Otakon 2007 coverage throughout the weekend.
