Adult Swim Ratings & Delivery Grow by Double Digits, Earning #1 Weekly Ranking Among Adults 18-34, 18-24 and Men 18-34, 18-24

Adult Swim Programs Account for Nearly Half of Basic Cable’s Top 50 of the Week Among Men 18-34

As Adult Swim’s programming schedule expands to seven nights per week starting Friday, July 6, the late-night network achieved across the board double-digit ratings and delivery growth among all young adult demos, according to preliminary data from Nielsen Media Research. With nearly six straight months of #1 ranking among ad-supported cable for total day delivery of young adults, Adult Swim once again topped the charts for delivery of adults 18-34, adults 18-24, men 18-34 and men 18-24-the latter for 118 consecutive weeks.

Furthermore, Adult Swim programs accounted for 16 of the top 50 ad-supported cable programs of the week among adults 18-34, more than any other network. And among men 18-34, Adult Swim programs dominated all other networks with 24 of the top 50 programs of the week, nearly half of the chart. Four Adult Swim telecasts landed in the top 10, also more than any other network.

Highlights of Adult Swim’s weekly performance vs. the same time period last year include the following:

ADULT SWIM (Monday-Thursday, Saturday, 11 p.m.-6 a.m.; Sunday, 10 p.m.-6 a.m.) vs. the ’06 time period

* Adults 18-34 delivery (461,000) grew by 29%, and ratings (0.7) by 40%

* Adults 18-24 delivery (293,000) advanced by 34%, and ratings (1.0) by 25%

* Adults 18-49 delivery (583,000) increased by 22%, while ratings (0.4) were unchanged

* Men 18-34 delivery (273,000) expanded by 27%, and ratings (0.8) by 14%

* Men 18-24 delivery (172,000) jumped by 30%, and ratings (1.2) by 33%

Adult Swim (AdultSwim.com), launched in 2001, is Turner Broadcasting System, Inc.’s network offering original and acquired animated comedy and action series for young adults. Airing overnights six days a week for a total of 45 hours weekly, Adult Swim shares channel space with Cartoon Network, home to the best in original, classic and acquired programming for children and families, and is seen in 91 million U.S. homes.
