"Persepolis" Shares Jury Prize at Cannes; "Madame Tutli-Putli" Wins 2 Awards

The animated adaptation of Marjane Satrapi’s Persepolis graphic novel is sharing the jury prize at the Cannes Film Festival with Stellet Licht (Silent Light). The movie will be released in America in the fall of this year.

UPDATED May 29, 2007: The innovative stop-motion animated Madame Tutli-Putli also took two prizes from Cannes back home to Canada: the Canal + Award for Best Short Film and the Petit Rail d’Or for Best Short Film. The film will have its North American debut at the Worldwide Shorts Festival in Toronto (June 12-17).
