(April 17, 2007 – Toronto , Canada ) Get hyped for the weekend as Hyper Action Fridays takes over The Zone time block, Fridays from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. beginning May 4 – only on YTV. Hyper Action Fridays brings viewers the Canadian premiere of the hit Nickelodeon series El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera and season two of TWF: Thumb Wrestling Federation.

“When El Tigre launched on Nickelodeon last month, it was an instant hit. EL TIGRE : THE ADVENTURES OF MANNY RIVERA – SERIES PREMIERE
This hip half-hour animated comedy follows thirteen-year-old Manny Rivera, a third-generation superhero who transforms into a brave and powerful masked warrior known as El Tigre when he spins his mystical belt buckle. Manny lives with his father, a retired superhero, and his grandfather, a retired super-villain, in Miracle City . With a rich heritage of both good and evil, Manny often finds it hard to choose, since doing good is good…but being bad is fun. Be sure to catch the exclusive Canadian premiere Friday, May 4 at 5 p.m.

TWF: THUMB WRESTLING FEDERATION – SEASON PREMIERE
The thumbs are back in the ring and more ready than ever to battle it out for the TWF Championship Belt. The Sinistras and the Dexteras are once again in the fight of good versus evil with an all-new season of TWF: Thumb Wrestling Federation. This season, check out new characters like Mahi Mahi Mindy, Big Star, Fly Guy, Mr. Extremeo and most notably, the new Dextera: Canada ‘s own Face-Off Phil! Featuring new matches, bios and gags, season two of this hands-down favourite will begin Friday May 4 both at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.

YTV’s extensive website dedicated specifically to TWF, channelled through YTV.com, allows viewers to find character bios and video gags and much more to give them the scoop on their favourite thumbs. A complete schedule of matches will be posted on the site as well as video clips after they air. Every week two new character bios and gags will be posted to the site.

Hyper Action Fridays will keep viewers’ momentum going throughout The Zone with episodes of Robotboy, Xiaolin Showdown and Avatar.
