SUPERHEROES FLY THROUGH THE SKIES
AS CORUS KIDS TELEVISION RAMPS UP FOR SUMMER VACATION

(April 23, 2007 – Toronto , Canada ) This June, YTV and Treehouse celebrate summer vacation with a jam-packed schedule of movies and specials. Highlights include: Superhero Saturday, MÄR and Last Day of School on YTV, and Treehouse special events Hello Summer and Summer-saurus Fridays.

YTV JUNE 2007 HIGHLIGHTS

MÄR – SERIES PREMIERE
YTV is bringing anime fans a new series this June, MÄR, combining the worlds of anime, mythology and fairytales. Ginta Toramizu, a picked-on middle school boy with an active imagination, sees a gate appear at school one day – through it, he enters the world of MÄR. Within this new world are ÄRMs – magical items with special powers. When Ginta meets a talking ÄRM named Babbo, Ginta learns he has been summoned to this mystical place to join the Cross Guard and stop the Chess Pieces from destroying MÄR. Tune in to watch the season premiere Friday, June 1 at 7 p.m.

MONDAY MATINEES – IN THE ZONE
All summer long, YTV invites viewers to take in a matinee every Monday afternoon in The Zone. This event will kick off with the film Are We There Yet? starring Nia Long and Ice Cube Monday, May 28. Monday Matinees air every Monday afternoon at 4 p.m. until August 27. Other great summer titles include: Powerpuff Girls: The Movie, Jimmy Neutron: Win! Lose! Kaboom!, Rugrats in Paris and All Dogs Go To Heaven 2.

SUPERHERO SATURDAY
It’s time to celebrate those who can save humanity, reverse the world’s rotation and make tights and capes look good. Superhero Saturday will feature twenty-four hours of episodes, specials and movies about superheroes. Teen Titans, Smallville and Captain Flamingo will be featured throughout the day as well as three back-to-back episodes of Fantastic Four beginning at 9:30 a.m. and a premiere episode airing at 11 a.m. The exclusive Canadian premiere of the one-hour special Aquaman will air at 8 p.m. Let the superhero appreciation begin on Saturday,
June 9 at 6 a.m.

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL
The bell is ringing and summer is here – no more homework just a celebration of summer vacation with YTV’s lineup of unstoppable programming, including episodes of The Fairly OddParents and SpongeBob SquarePants. Be sure to check out the premiere of the latest Edgar & Ellen episode Edgar & Ellen: The Frog Days of Summer. Summer holidays kick off on YTV Thursday, June 28 at 4 p.m.

EDGAR & ELLEN: FROG DAYS OF SUMMER
A home to all things creepy, Nod’s Limb’s Dismal Swamp is the twins’ favourite summer getaway. When the Mayor and Stephanie plan to destroy the swamp to make way for a theme park, Edgar and Ellen stop at nothing to save their mire of mirth. Tune in to watch this premiere episode Thursday, June 28 at 6:30 p.m.

UNFAB-A-THON
YTV brings viewers three back-to-back episodes of Unfabulous, starring Emma Roberts, the beautiful, talented niece of the rather fabulous Julia Roberts. The Unfab-a-thon will also include a special one-hour episode of the series Unfabulous: The Perfect Moment. The marathon begins Saturday, June 10 at 12 p.m.

UNFABULOUS: THE PERFECT MOMENT
Upon learning that Jake is attending a wedding in Chinatown , Addie decides to track him down to tell him how she feels once and for all. Tune in to watch this special one-hour episode Saturday, June 10 at 12 p.m.

TRANSFORMERS DAY
Spend the day discovering that there really is “more than meets the eye”. YTV is celebrating this summer’s release of the blockbuster action movie Transformers with a day-long event, Transformers Day. Kids can enjoy a variety of episodes all afternoon, with a special airing of the ’80s classic Transformers: The Movie in Three Hairy Thumbs Up at 4 p.m. Watch the Autobots and Decepticons battle it out on Saturday, June 30 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

BIONIX PRESENTATION
Calling all anime fans! This June, the fourth and final Inuyasha movie, Inuyasha 4: Fire on the Mystic Island will air as a special Bionix presentation.

INUYASHA 4: FIRE ON THE MYSTIC ISLAND
After fifty years, the reappearance of the mysterious island Houraijima has instigated an attack on the four gods by the Shitoushin. Determined to protect the island, the gods must defeat the Shitoushin as Inuyasha and his friends help save the children who are trapped in the chaos. Find out how this story unfolds Friday, June 22 at 9 p.m.
