"300" seizes its glory for a second weekend

For the second weekend running 300, the live-action adaptation of Frank Miller’s graphic novel of the same name directed by Zack Snyder, has taken the box office crown, taking in $31 million for the three day period. While that represents a 56% fall off from the pervious weekend, the film has now grossed over $127 million domestically, including mid-week ticket sales. 300 seems poised to be the first major block-buster picture of 2007, and when combined with Ghost Rider‘s total domestic take of over $110 million portends a very good summer for the movie industry, who’s lineup is studded with a large number of action pictures.
