THE PLAYHOUSE DISNEY BLOCK DELIVERS SUBSTANTIAL YEAR-TO-YEAR GAINS IN CORE KIDS 2-5 DEMOGRAPHIC

Disney Channel

* Disney Channel finished atop all basic cable in Primetime for the 84th consecutive weeks in Kids 6-11 (1.01 million/4.2 rating) and 80th in Tweens 9-14 (894,000/3.6 rating).

* Disney Channel finished as basic cable’s No. 1 general entertainment network in Prime in Total Viewers (2.47 million), and second overall behind only sister network ESPN (3.49 million).

* Among Kids 6-11, Disney Channel held four of the week’s Top 10 most-watched TV series (broadcast and basic cable) with “Hannah Montana” (#7, 1.10 million/4.5 rating), “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody” (#8, 1.06 million/4.4 rating), “The Replacements” (#9, 1.07 million/4.4 rating) and “That’s So Raven” (#10, 1.02 million/4.2 rating).

* Versus the comparable year-ago week (11/7/05-11/13/05), Disney Channel delivered considerable double-digit percentage increases, up by 29% in Total Viewers (2.47 million vs. 1.91 million), by 26% in Kids 6-11 (1,014,000 vs. 802,000) and by 33% in Tweens 9-14 (894,000 vs. 671,000).

* Disney Channel was home to 3 of the week’s Top 10 TV series (broadcast and basic cable) in Kids 2-5 with pre-school targeted Playhouse Disney shows “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse” (#4, 725,000/4.6 rating), “Handy Manny” (#9, 618,000/3.9 rating) and “Little Einsteins” (#10; 614,000/3.9 rating).

* The Playhouse Disney block (Monday-Sunday, 6:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.) generated considerable gains year to year, up by 38% in Kids 2-5 (430,000 vs. 311,000).
