"Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" Posts Record Ratings for a Playhouse Disney Series Premiere

Disney Channel’s premiere of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on Friday, May 5 (7:30 p.m.), delivered the highest ratings ever for a Playhouse Disney series premiere among Kids 2-5 (6.2/767,000), Girls 2-5 (6.0/375,000), Households (2.2/1,960,000), and Total Viewers (1.2/2,777,000).

Among all basic cable networks in the U.S., Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (Friday, May 5, 7:30 p.m.) was #1 in its time period with Kids 2-5 (6.2/767,000), Boys 2-5 (6.4/393,000), and Girls 2-5 (6.0/375,000).

Disney Channel sustained its strong Playhouse Disney track record for adult/child co-viewing as Mickey Mouse Clubhouse ranked #1 in the time period with Women 18-49 (0.9/450,000) and tied for #1 in the time period in Households (2.2/1,960,000), Adults 18-49 (0.7/770,000), and Total Viewers 2+ (1.2/2,777,000).

In its targeted demographic, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse posted a 6.2 rating/767,000 with Kids 2-5, up 158% from last year (2.4). The premiere delivered a 6.0 rating with Girls 2-5 and a 6.4 rating with Boys 2-5, up 161% and 156%, respectively, from the year-ago time period average.

In Households, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse improved the time period by 22% (2.2 vs. 1.8). In Total Viewers, it was up 38% (2,777,000 vs. 2,011,000).

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse built on its lead-in, Disney Channel’s premiere of the Academy Award-winning blockbuster Finding Nemo (5:30 p.m.), delivering an increase of 5% among Kids 2-5 (6.2/767,000 vs. 5.9/731,000) and 21% among Boys 2-5 (6.4/393,000 vs. 5.3/324,000).

Finding Nemo (5:30 p.m.) posted 3,192,000 Total Viewers, a 99% improvement on the year-ago time period average (1,606,000; 5/6/05).

Against all basic cable networks, the premiere of Finding Nemo on Disney Channel ranked #1 in the time period among Kids 2-5 (5.9/731,000), Boys 2-5 (5.3/324,000), Girls 2-5 (6.5/407,000), Kids 6-11 (5.5/1,091,000), Adults 18-49 (0.8/784,000), Women 18-49 (0.9/460,000), Total Viewers 2+ (1.4/3,192,000), and Households (2.7/2,349,000).

Finding Nemo also delivered significant increases from the year-ago time period average: up 80% in Households (2.7/2,349,000 vs. 1.5/1,266,000), up 211% with Kids 2-5 (5.9/731,000 vs. 1.9/230,000), up 242% with Girls 2-5 (6.5/407,000 vs. 1.9/111,000), up 165% with Boys 2-5 (5.3/324,000 vs. 2.0/120,000), up 67% with Kids 6-11 (5.5/1,091,000 vs. 3.3/649,000), up 167% with Adults 18-49 (0.8/784,000 vs. 0.3/307,000), and up 125% with Women 18-49 (0.9/460,000 vs. 0.4/190,000).

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse premiered in its regular Playhouse Disney weekend timeslot on Disney Channels and Playhouse Disney channels around the world on Saturday, May 6. The series, starring Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Pluto and Goofy, is designed to entertain preschoolers while helping them develop early math skills.
