Pixar Stock Certificates a Hot Commodity

An article in the Los Angeles Times notes that the Disney/Pixar merger has triggered a small boom in collectors anxious to own a physical stock certificate of the company before the merger (free registration required). Several companies, such as OneShare.com and Frame-a-Stock offer to sell investors and collectors a single share of stock in a company at a price premium ranging from $35 to $150. Both companies are reporting a steep increase in demand for shares in Pixar.
