Pixar Reports Record 2005 Revenue on Lower 4Q Results
Pixar Animation Studios announced profits of $30.9 million on revenues of $55.6 million for the fourth quarter of 2005, for earnings of $0.25 per diluted share. These results are significantly lower than those from a year ago, whose $55.2 million profit rivaled this past quarter’s entire profit.
However, the quarterly numbers capped off Pixar’s most profitable year ever, with an annual profit of $152.9 million (or $1.24 per fully diluted share) on revenues of $289.1 million. The majority of Pixar’s revenue and profit for the quarter and the year resulted primarily from home video and licensing from The Incredibles and Finding Nemo.
