Live-Action "Simpsons" Demonstrates Viral Marketing in Action

A post at the Los Angeles Times‘ “Channel Island” weblog notes that a live-action version of the Simpsons opening sequence posted on YouTube.com has been a rampaging success. Originally commissioned by director Chris Palmer and UK ad agency Devilfish, the ad has spread throughout the Internet with incredible speed, achieving the “viral marketing” goals of Fox parent News Corp. It is also one of the first uses of the site for legitimate advertising purposes.
