DreamWorks Animation Beats 4Q 2005 Estimates Despite Drop in Profit

DreamWorks Animation SKG has just announced its financial results for the fourth quarter of 2005, reporting net income of $63.2 million (or 61 cents per share) on revenues of $172.9 million. These numbers represent a significant drop from 4Q 2004 results ($192 million profit on $495.7 million revenue), but were still significantly higher than Wall Street analyst expectations.

Some facts garnered from the press release reveal that DreamWorks took a charge of $25.1 million for the Oscar winning film Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, and that the company is in talks with Nickelodeon for possible TGV projects.
