More "Gatchaman" Releases in August

ADV Films will release Cromartie High School: Mount Rockmore, Madlax: The In-Between and Maburaho: The Witching Hour to DVD on August 16, the company said today. August 16 will also bring three Gatchaman releases, including a three-disc collector’s box.

Gatchaman 3: Icebergs & Africa will feature episodes 13-18 of the series in both English 5.1 and Japanese 2.0 with English subtitles. Extras include a commentary track with voice actor Luci Christian (Jinpei); “Gatchaman Karaoke”; clean closing animation; and previews. Gatchaman 4: Speed Racers & Neon Giants will include episodes 19-24 in both English 5.1 and Japanese 2.0 with English subtitles. Extras include a commentary track with Victor Carsrud (Ryu); “Gatchaman Karaoke”; clean opening and closing animation; and previews. Each disc will retail for $14.98.

Gatchaman Collection 2 is a three-disc box set containing volumes three and four and a third disk of extras. The collection comes in a chipboard box with art by Alex Ross, who is also interviewed on the extras disc. Other extras include an interview with Brian Jepson (Joe); Joe the Condor audition footage; and a character profile and sketches of Joe. The disc will also feature episode sketches; a Gatchaman publishing gallery; a “What is Gatchaman?” feature; and a video version of the Gatchaman manga “The Freezing Iron Beast: Ice Creamer.” The Collection will retail for $34.98.

Cromartie High School: Mount Rockmore will feature episodes 21-26 in both English 5.1 and Japanese 2.0 with English subtitles. Extras include cultural notes and comments; special Cromartie video clips; the original Japanese TV warning; clean opening and closing animation; and previews. It will retail for $29.98.

Madlax: The In-Between will include episodes 9-12, presented in both English 5.1 and Japanese 2.0 with English subtitles. Extras include “Conversations with SSS”; original Japanese TV spots; design sketches; clean opening and closing animation; and previews. It will retail for $29.98.

Maburaho: The Witching Hour will include episodes 9-12 in both English 5.1 and Japanese 2.0 with English subtitles. Extras include a video segment “The Art of Maburaho”; commentary track with Tiffany Grant (Kuriko); clean opening and closing animation; and previews. It will retail for $29.98.
