DreamWorks Animation Reports First Quarter 2005 Financial Results
DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc. today announced financial results for its first quarter ended March 31, 2005.
For the quarter, revenue totaled $167 million and net income totaled $46 million, compared to revenue of $41 million and a net loss of $25 million for the same period in 2004.
The improvement in both profit and revenue was driven primarily by Shark Tale, which generated approximately $142 million of revenue in the quarter from its success in both international theatrical and worldwide home video markets.
Commenting on the full year earnings outlook, the company said it now expects to achieve full year earnings per share of between $1.00 and $1.25. Most of this is expected to be achieved during the fourth quarter of 2005.
