Cartoon Network Ratings Report for 1/17 to 1/23

Claiming a four-week winning streak, Cartoon Network earned double-digit ratings and delivery growth across all its target demos in both prime time and kids total day, according to Nielsen Media Research. Standouts from the network’s line-up of original series include new episode premieres of Teen Titans (Saturday, 8 pm) and Justice League Unlimited (Saturday, 8:30 pm), as well as the second-season launch of Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends (Friday, 7 & 10:30 pm) within the Fridays (7 pm-12 am) block. Highlights of Cartoon Network’s outstanding performance vs. the same time periods last year include the following:

Prime Time (Monday-Sunday, 8-11 pm)
*Kids 6-11 delivery (752,000) and ratings (3.1) both grew by 35%.
*Kids 2-11 delivery (1,177,000) improved by 26% and ratings (3.0) by 25%.
*Tweens 9-14 delivery (519,000) increased by 23% and ratings (2.1) by 24%.

Kids’ Total Day (Monday-Sunday, 6 am – 6 am, kids’ programming)
*Kids 6-11 delivery (546,000) increased by 47% and ratings (2.3) by 44%.
*Kids 2-11 delivery (876,000) rose by 33% and ratings (2.2) by 29%.
*Tweens 9-14 delivery (370,000) grew by 32% and ratings (1.5) by 36%.

DC Comics-themed Teen Titans and Justice League Unlimited, currently anchoring Toonami (Saturday 7-11 pm), the network’s weekend block of action-adventure programming for tweens, each premiered new episodes.

Teen Titans (Saturday, 8 pm)
*Ranked #1 in its time period on basic cable in delivery/rating among tweens 9-14, boys 9-14 and boys 6-11.
*Tweens 9-14 delivery (921,000) increased by 199% and ratings (3.7) by 185%.
*Kids 6-11 delivery (1,222,000) grew by 221% and ratings (5.0) by 213%.

Justice League Unlimited (Saturday, 8:30 pm)
*Ranked #1 in its time period on basic cable in delivery/rating among boys 9-14.
*Tweens 9-14 delivery (800,000) increased by 118% and ratings (3.3) by 120%.
*Kids 6-11 delivery (1,029,000) jumped by 49% and ratings (4.2) by 45%.

Cartoon Network’s #1 original series of 2004, Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, earned double-digit increases across all target demos and gave an overall lift to Fridays as well:

Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends (Friday, 7 & 10:30 pm)
*Kids 6-11 delivery (873,000) improved by 22% and ratings (3.6) by 20%.
*Kids 2-11 delivery (1,253,000) and ratings (3.2) both grew by 28%.

Fridays (Friday, 7 pm-12 am)
*Kids 6-11 delivery (784,000) grew by 22% and ratings (3.2) by 19%.
*Kids 2-11 delivery (1,136,000) rose by 24% and ratings (2.9) by 26%.
